Summer Vacay - Yellowstone & Yellowstone Club - (Part 4)

Yellowstone was amazing - we couldn't believe how different the parts of the park were, each incredibly beautiful in its own right.  The weather was cool and beautiful for the first part of the week, with only 1-2 brutally hot days near the end.  It was crazy how busy the park was - and of course whenever there were animals to be seen, the traffic would stop.  You'd better not have to use the restroom during those moments...otherwise a trip into the woods may be required - talk to Karis and Zachary about that particular skill.....:)

Lake Yellowstone on the Drive to Cody - Monday

One of our kids tends to be colder than the others...can you tell which one? :)

Thumbs up for super fun times!

Lamar Valley and Animal Sightings - Tuesday

A lot of different terrain as we drove through!

Beautiful landscapes!
Deep gorge with river running through it

Walking on the road (great for traffic!) and then right beside our car!

Large Elk
And a grizzly bear!!!

Black Bear in the front of the picture closest to us

A coyote hunting - Amanda caught a video of him actually catching and eating the small animal!

Wednesday - Grand Prismatic Springs, Artist Paint Points and Old Faithful!
Korey and Rachel arrived at Old Faithful on Wednesday, so Addison was super excited to see her young cousins.  Kaleb and Nik immediately formed their special bond that they started up in Canada the last time that we were together.  It was so sweet!  Korey and Karis drove around together the rest of our tourist time, while Amy and Rachel had some nice uninterrupted visits while we drove together!

Very cool tree roots - Jake, Noah, Zachary, Addison and Kaleb

Such a pretty blue!

Mud pots
You could hear this one spitting and spurting as it gurgled!

Lots of small geysers along the boardwalk

Taking a break!

Should kids this young need a break!?

What could be more fun than climbing a tree!

Throwing rocks into the stream

Don't get into the water, seeing as the hot geyser water flows into it!

Grand Prismatic Spring - gorgeous!

Old Faithful

The Zs in front of Old Faithful!
Hmm, the ice cream is ending up on their faces as much as their bellies!

Thursday - Stage Coach Ride, Mammoth Hot Springs, Gibson Falls
The cowboys waiting for the stage coach to begin!

She does everything that her brothers do, so she had to get up there too!

The older boys sat together

While we enjoyed Nik's company!

Zachary and Karis have the same shirt on....at least you won't lose them!

And we are off!  Thank goodness we don't travel like this in today's day and age!

these two were sweet!
And look, they are holding hands!

River Gorge near the canyons area for Yellowstone

Mammoth Springs

It was really pretty with the white rock area with the water flowing down!

Everything is desolate where water is because of the acid!

Empty old phone booths - you don't see these very often anymore!

There are elk laying in the middle of the town!

An ice cream treat after our super hot hike around mammoth hot springs!

Gibson Falls

Cory was our official photographer for the trip!

Climbing yet again
Goofing off, doing some kind of odd dance!

Addi, Nik and Gianna!

She is our climber!
Playing chess at the restaurant!

Friday and Saturday - Yellowstone Club

We finished up the week before heading out with a visit with Adrian and Maggie Cotton, with her parents.   We hiked and enjoyed some pool time - along with just catching up.  They live in California, so it was just a wonderful stroke of coincidence that they were up in Montana as well at the same time!

About the start the hike down to the falls

The Z clan

The whole group
He is growing up too fast!

The two brothers!
She is our climber!

After eating breakdfast down at the lodge!

The cousins!

Adrian and Addi - she doesn't love to walk and he was so kind to carry her up the trail for part of the way!

Kids are scattered throughout the media room watching Veggie Tales back at the house!
The Club has an obstacle course area that was really fun for the kids to go down - zip lines, balance obstacles etc.

Bruce, Kaleb and Alex
We were blessed to be able to experience the national park with make memories together as a family - super fun!
