May Madness is the right moniker for this post - we had lots of fun in May....with a future post being dedicated to the big trip to Europe that we just got back from....but first we have to catch up on the rest of May! :)
May always starts off with the church retreat, which we dearly love. It is always a fun time and we had some special events this year with our friend Evan's baptism! We always have the potluck dinner on Saturday, which may have been the biggest year yet! Always fun to catch up with friends.

The rest of camp was filled with bike riding, soccer playing, taking quiet walks around the springs, canoeing, the zoo, and visiting with friends.

Canoeing is always a fun time at the camp, and this year Zachary and his friends were old enough to attempt it on their own. They settled into a canoe and off they went! A few minutes later another family's two daughters got into their own canoe and set off. The funny thing was that their girls came back a LOT faster than our boys did.....and shared that "the boys are stuck at the end of the spring, they are screaming like girls" Ha ha ha ha ha - GIRL POWER! Hilarious. The boys made it back safe and sound without dumping their canoe but it did give the Z parents a giggle.

We had our potluck dinner this time at the pavilion, which ended up being perfect! There was lots of room and tables, a fan, lights, and we had plenty of green grass around to play spike ball and soccer afterward....while we could see the kids playing we could putter around chatting and cleaning up. We will definitely do that again next year!

We always stay in chalets and our friends the Biris were in the chalet nearby.....so there would be a daily morning "gang" going over there for coffee as they brought their special coffee maker! :)

For the end of the school year party, Addison's class went to Coco Key Water resort for the day. Amy, Grandma and Grandpa Lyle tagged along for the day - it was a fun event!
There was one final field trip to Publix (grocery store) - where the kids all got to dress up like Publix workers and try their hand at bagging groceries!
Addison had a great year in Kindergarten with Mrs. Gomberg, we are certainly blessed! She was an amazing teacher!

Jennifer hosts a traditional Mother's Day "go out to the beach" afternoon on the Mother's day sabbath, so Amy headed out there again for a bit to visit. The weather was perfect this year! It was super fun to relax and chat with the ladies.
That evening, the Pathfinders club had their final investiture meeting and Kaleb was chosen to be part of the color guard where he carried in the flags. He enjoyed participating in this and did a great job with the saluting, carrying the flags and posting them.
On Mother's Day, the Z family first went over to the Johnsons to watch Sound of Music. It was the first time that Amy has EVER fully watched the Sound of Music - it was so fun to do with the kids. they even enjoyed it! After that, we went out to Brios that evening with Mom to celebrate Mother's Day.
With the end of the year, we had other year-end events such as Addison's gymnastics show. She did a great job and rotated through the different apparatus. She says that her favorite is the bars, and NOT the beam! :)
Zachary also had his end of the year Panthers banquet for the varsity soccer team that he was on. Karis was the medical help for the team, so he got to go up on stage as well!
In other fun events, we had a birthday party at a rescue horse farm for our new friend Alison. Thankfully there was shade, as it was so hot that day! The kids had a great time feeding the horses and playing on the playground equipment.
