Ending up the year!

As we finished up the school year, there was of course a flurry of activities, and so this is going to try and summarize the events that we enjoyed in part - although it is mind-boggling as we still have a lot to catch up on!

The end of the year always comes with the finale for Adventurers.  We have really enjoyed the Apopka Adventurers club, but with Kaleb graduating to Pathfinders now we are leaning towards heading over to Forest Lake church club for both kids.  We will miss the Apopka group of friends, it was fun to see a wide group of people and to go on their camp outs!

Addison - always with a pose

On to the next level!

Completely done with Adventurers now!

For Mother's day, Jennifer started a fun tradition of the mom's going out to the beach.  Kelli and Amy headed out to the beach together as we had to dash back for the Investiture program, so it was fun to be able to visit as we drove.  Thanks to Jenn for organizing and to all the ladies for a fun, relaxing day!

On Mother's Day, we headed out for breakfast and then afterwards we came back to go boating together for some silly fun.  The day was overcast, so it wasn't too hot which was nice!
Addison insisted Amy wear this plastic necklace that she made - and wanted to have "all the ladies in this picture including her doll Taryn!

She thinks thatshe is Tarzan

Trying his hand at driving....very very slowly.
We took the opportunity to get the kids up wake surfing as well - the kids do pretty well with Kaleb really knocking it out of the park - we went around the lake three times with him up on the board!

Peace out dude!

We stopped in the middle of the lake and jumped/pushed each other into the water - lots of laughing and a fun swim!

This is a complete picture of the new SUV and boat - it has already been a lot of fun family memories, so our goal was accomplished!

Thanks to our good friend Heather who is always on the lookout, we went to another fun play - Judy Moody and the mad mad mad treasure hunt.  It was amusing - as you can see with Karis joining the kid line-up holding up their "hook" finger!

Addison is her father's daughter to be sure....in more ways than one.  But the most recent one is that she is growing a bushel of wheat!  She has been diligently watering and tending to this precious crop!
Addison is in gymnastics class on Wednesdays, right before ballet.  She has been enjoying it, and likes to hang out with Elin and V!

Their teacher Matt

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of hanging out with our friends at their lake house for their son's graduation - it was fun to visit with a lot of new people, and to watch the kids playing in the monsoon rain!!
Zach and Cristian

The rain is pouring, and he's out there playing soccer!

With the end of the year comes the end of the organized sports (whew!) - Kaleb finished up his flag football and Zachary finished up the Orlando city soccer league

The Panthers - thanks Darren for such a great esperience!
The soccer team with assistant coach Eric
Amy had a birthday in May (would they just STOP?!), and Addison was so sweet, she insisted that Amy stay in bed for a reallly long that time that morning so that she could have a surprise, and SURPRISE - it was a blue cake with tons of sprinkles on there! Addison delighted in making it...and eating it along the way!

The masterpiece

That is a lot of candles.....

Thanks sweetheart!
With Amy's job, the hospitals have tickets to various sporting arenas in Orlando and Tampa - we don't often try and get the tickets but recently in the hockey play-offs - game 7 in Tampa, we couldn't resist trying and scored!  Karis and Amy's cousin Jeff - both Canadian hockey buffs, had a super fun time going to the game - although the Tampa Bay Lightning lost unfortunately! But, it was a once in a lifetime fun experience and look at the smiles on their face!!!

Pine Lakes

A few weeks ago we had the fun weekend to head out to Pine Lakes camp for the Sabbath.  We normally camp out, but we thought Zachary had a soccer tournament in Tampa that weekend (which later was cancelled) so we just headed up for the day, so that at least we could still have the fun of playing there all day.  It was a lovely day, and the kids of course enjoyed the badges and running around with their friends.

Working on creating a beaver dam

Helping to serve lunch - she is always such a good helper!

The boys played soccer a LOT of course

Hanging out in the shade
We brought the Bs with us, so Evan was there (as well as Blake to hang out with Zachary)

In the afternoon, they had water games set up for the kids in various stations around the park - it was such a great idea especially as it was on the warm side and who doesn't like to get all wet!?
She was pulling a catapult to aim at "Goliath"

We also had the family over near the end of April (yes, we're behind on our blog posts!) for the boys birthday.  This year instead of cake they both chose to have birthday pie - it was delicious with Kaleb having lemon and Zachary having peanut butter/chocolate pie (Amy's favorite two pies!)

The boys got hover boards for their birthdays, and Jeff tried his hand at it - making us all laugh in the meantime - always a hoot!

Nothing makes Addison happier than having a baby around!
Every spring, we kick off the season with a trip to the beach.  This year, when we arrived we found the group sitting with towels around their legs!  It was a bit chilly!  Thankfully after about an hour it warmed up to a perfect level and we had a great time all day - so much so it was hard to actually leave that night!

Chilling out with Erik eating their snacks
While Karis and Abel solve the problems of the world
Cool sunglasses missy!
The little kids always love digging and creating these little "ponds" in the sand
Amy and Kelli have been close friends for 20 years now, and it is fun to watch our daughters Addison and Elin becoming good friends as well!
So much fun to be had!
Boogie boarding in the shallow waves
No trip is complete without being buried in the sand as a mermaid!
Love you kiddo!
Our spring outing to the beach - super fun day!  And of course Addison has quite the pose!

You know that they played hard when they are dead asleep on the way home after a fun day outside!
