The Tampa Zoo

The Zs do love the Tampa zoo, and this is one field trip that Amy usually tries to take the day off and attend as well.  The weather was lovely, and we enjoyed feeding the birds as usual!  We have always made it a habit to also feed the giraffe, but for some reason this year the giraffes did not want anything to do with eating that lettuce, so we were disappointed not to be able to feed them as well!

Up close and personal with the birds with Grandma!

They loved Kaleb this time!

Until he gave them away to Mom!

At least they weren't licking Amy's hair this time!

Sweet moment!

What a great picture!

We decided if we couldn't feed the giraffes that we would still do our best to get a picture with them in the distance!

There were other opportunities as well to have hands-on experiences with the animals - so we worked our way around the zoo!

No fear this time - she loved petting and brushing them!

The sting rays were next!

With the capstone being a snake - YUCK says Amy!
No field trip would be complete without Amy taking 100 pictures along the way for various photo ops of course so the next series just highlights different areas and moments where we snapped a picture

And at the end of the day, we took a picture of the three of us - we missed having Zachary along with us now that he attends FLEC!

And the sign of a fun-filled day?  A zonked out kid in the way home of course!

The Z Champions!

Karis had the pure joy this year of being the coach for both boys at the FLEC soccer league - They had a good little team with some close friends, such as Blake B and then some new friends that Zach has become closer to, such as Blake T.  The awesome news is that they WON the championship!  That was so fitting that the time that Karis - as coach - wins the tournament is when both of his boys are on the team.

At Tijuana Flats after the game with old and new friends!
The proud winners

So sweet that they were together to win!  Zach has won several times on other teams, but this is the first for Karis and Kaleb!

While watching the soccer game, they enjoyed sitting on Grandma's lap!
Our church also had a ground breaking for a new children's wing that they are building over the next year.  we are excited for the new space for the kids and attended to watch the important event!

The boys helped "man" the cookie and cupcake stand!

Turning dirt!
A few weeks ago, my friend Stephanie and I participated in the Corporate 5K - it is always a highlight as we enjoy getting together and catching up (she lives in Texas) as we walk!  On the way there, we encountered a humorous site - a man walking his pet pig!  Oh the things that a person can see in this town!!

FLEC had its spring concert, and Zachary is in the 5th grade choir so we popped over there of course to watch him perform.  He is in voice lessons this year to help him overcome the terrible genes from his mom and dad (although his grandmothers can sing so lovely!).

In the spring it is blueberry picking time!!  These strawberries are always delicious so we are happy when the kids head on out to pick blueberries!  Yum!

Showing off his spoils!

These were practically gone within a day - we gobbled them down!

The group of blueberry pickers!
Addison just finished up her soccer skills camp - she was not a fan of doing the warm-up runs around the field, but she improved dramatically with running during the game itself and chasing the ball.  She is still a little shy to get into the thick of things, but she is able to kick the ball and anticipate where it is going now! :)

Karis received some free tickets to the Orlando Solar Bears game a few weeks ago, so we took the whole family out to see it.  It was Addison's first time to a sporting event at the Amway Center, so she was quite excited to be "such a big girl!"
Taking a picture with the Magic statue, even though we really were there to see the Solar Bears!

One must capture the moments in a which a pre-teen son is willing to put his arm around his mom!  These moments are few and far between at 12!

We have been enjoying the boat, getting out onto the lake - so here are a few pictures from over the past few weeks.

Airborne!

Asleep in Mom's arms

The folks who come tend to rotate around to various families - so this was one day's group after the fun was all said and done!

Golden Birthday!

It was Zachary and Kaleb's birthdays in April, with Kaleb turning his golden 10 years old (10 years on April 10th) - so he was excited to be able to have everything in gold colors for his birthday!  We did the birthday party at Planet Obstacle, which has tons of different activities inside from ziplines, ropes courses, rock climbing walls, bumper cars, trampolines, Ninja obstacles etc.  The kids had a blast playing!

The golden 10th birthday!

We cannot believe he is 12!

Addison loves DeAnna!

After the birthday party, we jumped in the car and ran over to the Madagascar Play at the Orlando Rep - it was quite fun with colorful characters and fun music - the kids had a great time.

To celebrate Zachary's birthday, he wanted to take in cupcakes into his classroom, so it was a "blue" year this year.

We also went to Kobe's that night along with the Js (Kelli shares a birthday) and the Cs, and of course Grandma.  It was a fun time!

It was an ice cream cake for this birthday at home (how many cakes can a boy have!?)

Kaleb always prefers to have cookies for his birthday class treat, so Miss Jennifer works her magic - it was a great "10"!

too many candles buddy - don't grow up so fast!

Zachary's Panthers awards night

A fun time at the Hilliard East party.  Amy flew in that day from Canada (Grandma's funeral) but was able to just drive from the airport straight there - it was fun.

One evening, Zachary and Amy decided to have an arm wrestle - it was touch and go on the first one, but Amy FINALLY won.  They then took it to the kitchen island where he beat her.  That isn't supposed to happen when he is only 12! :)
