Bergherm "Camp"

Bergherm parents went to Andrews basketball tournament with their son Blake, leaving the two younger B children here in Orlando. We had the fun of hosting Evan for the week and then London joined on the weekend.  Lots of fun activities!

Amy picked up the kids on Friday afternoon from school and we headed straight to Panera Bread for lunch.  Yum!  After that, Amy took the younger girls and joined up with Erik and Devin at Rebounderz - always a good chance to get their energy expended, while Amy enjoyed a visit with Heather.

On Sabbath, we headed out after church to look for birds for Kaleb's bird biology project and enjoyed the local park swings at the same time - always a fun time!

And we finished up the finale on Sunday with crafts and a "spa day" with the girls.  Great memories were made - come again kiddos!

After all was said and done, Addison was one tuckered out little girly and enjoyed a nap on the bean bag!

Sweet dreams little one!

Back to Reality & Blue Heron Bridgee

xxx check for missing HEIC pictures that I should add

After vacation, it is always hard to get "back to real life" and this time was no different, although we did have a lot of fun things to look forward to in January!

Our trip back was thankfully uneventful, and we had our typical layover in Minneapolis and of course we stopped to get our picture with the annual Christmas tree!

Zachary decided that he wanted to build a computer from scratch (gaming computer) so he launched himself with gusto into the project.  He did a great job (sometimes thanks to "how to videos on Youtube as well as a very handy Dad!) and now enjoys a new gaming computer!

Unboxing the pieces and parts to get started building

Js moved into their new house while we were gone (boo for us, yay for them!), but we enjoyed a game of Scum when we got back.  Don't ask why all of the men have sunglasses on, it apparently was a "thing" that night for at least the picture! 😂

In Canada, there is always a lot of baking and Addison was determined to try her hand at baking cinnamon rolls when she got home.  She did not too bad for a beginner!

Kaleb got his scuba diving license last summer and we realized that he should be doing a dive at least every 6 months, so over MLK weekend we put together a quick dive down at Blue Heron Bridge in South Florida on a Sunday.  He enjoyed it very much, and was accompanied by Sam and Mr. Phil who did their license together last summer.

Canadian Christmas Memories

It was the year for us to be in Canada with the whole Zbaraschuk family, including Korey and Rachel from Oregon - always a fun time.  The weather was very mild - a first in several years!  And a HUGE blessing was that for the first time in 25 years, we were able to get a direct flight from Orlando to Saskatoon!  After 2 years of having to fly to N. Dakota and drive 8-10 years in horrible weather and icy roads, it was a blessing that we didn't take lightly!

The whole Z crew

Christmas vacations are always filled with some of the usual events - such as an outing to the Minto bowling theater, lots of games, baking, and the men love their projects!  See a few of our highlights in the photo montage below!

It is time for this old shed to bite the dust!

Karis and his dad burning down the shed after it was crushed

Mid-week we always go to Minto Bowling, which has candle pin bowling, go-carts and an arcade.

Minto bowling

This year the Minto bowling alley put in go-carts!  Addison is intent racing!

And the big kids enjoyed it too!

The boys always play this basketball game at the alley - what great memories of them as young tykes!
An impromptu ballroom dance routine erupted!

There are always a lot of crafts and games while we are there, something for everyone!
Card games every night!

Craft time with Emily - she has a gift with these girls!

Fun was also had mixing nutella with spicy cheetos - called Nut-eetos!

Puzzles are a for sure entertainment option every year!
Nik got a Virtual Reality headset - and the little kids all enjoyed playing with it!

The baking and cooking for 16 people as you can imagine is always a lot but Addison loves baking so it is fun quality time for sure

And banana bread!

And a snowflake cinnamon pastry

Even the big boys helped in the kitchen - so proud of them!

One entertainment activity on holiday is to rest - which of course can happen anywhere!

What holiday is complete without a nap?  The youngest and oldest Z brother enjoyed some down time!

We went to the Rosthern church for Christmas Sabbath and potluck.  Connor did a reading as part of the program and he did amazing, such a great story!

We always take some group pictures to try and capture these moments in time, and how fast the kids are growing up - just blink your eyes and they are big!

Ha ha, Connor put the ball under his shirt and we couldn't resist doing a pretend picture of him being pregnant!

Sassy fun!

Kent and Kaylie drove us back to Saskatoon the night before our flight out, and it was a flashback to our summer last year with Kaylie in which we waited for long lines and the kids would play this game in which they had to freeze in positions and then try to hit each other's hands.  No electronics needed for this fun!  Thankfully our trip back was uneventful and we were able to make it be safe and sound and hit the road back to school with no hiccups.

And of course there is lots of chances for us to grab pictures of the various family members - thankfully the Z kids don't mind taking pictures (well, maybe that is stretching it, but they will at least put on a lovely smile once the camera comes out to take pictures!)

The male grandsons with Grandpa Dennis!

Zachary walked with Grandma Connie up and down the halls to get her some walking steps in!
