Passing the soccer mantle

Soccer has been a Zbaraschuk household norm now for many years starting with Zachary.  Zachary is now a junior, and finds that while he enjoys playing soccer with his friends that he is ready to hang up his competitive cleats.  He has passed the proverbial cleats on now to Addison as she has joined her first club team.  It is a boy's team from FLEC as there aren't enough girls who want to play unfortunately.  Addison knows many of the boys on the team from her class (including some of her besties) so she was super excited to join.

Kaleb is still on his club team, with Dad as the coach.  It is a great group of boys, we have been blessed by this group of kids now for several years.

Grandma and Grandpa are faithful attendees to the kids' soccer games.  Often they are near to the same time, so this day they split forces with Grandpa coming to Addison's and Gramdma's went to Kaleb's.

After one of the games, there was an incredibly beautiful sunset and field of flowers - couldn't resist taking a picture of this!

In other updates, Addison has been enjoying wake surfing over the summer and has started to learn how to drive the boat when no-one else is out on the lake.

Karis has reached the age of needing to go and get his colonoscopy - thankfully he came through it with only 3 small polyps which is much less than the average, so that is good news!  With having colon cancer in his family we will be sure to keep on top of his checks.  Amy has had hers as well based, which was also clean.  The prep process of course is "oh so fun!"

A beautiful drawing that Addison did all on her own - well done little one!

The Non-Cruise

Labor Day this year we had a special trip planned to go on a long weekend cruise to Cozumel with Mom, Lyle and the fam.  Unfortunately right before we headed out on Thursday, Hurricane Idalia skirted the coast and while it didn't hit Tampa, it did cause a surge of water and the port was closed.  With that in mind, the cruise changed to just be a "float around the ocean cruise" which was NOT what we had in mind we so pivoted, changed our tickets to be a pre-Thanksgiving cruise and then headed to the beach in order to enjoy some sun and surf at New Smyrna.  We were super fortunate, Karis had a patient who owns rental condos out on the beach and has been suggesting to him that we should take advantage one weekend - so she hooked us up with a two bedroom place right on the water for just the cleaning fee.  That was a blessing to be able to figure out a decent place to salvage the weekend - thanks so much!

The ladies!

Always climbing on things....

Warming up in the sun out by the pool

We enjoyed flying the kite out on the water

Lots of time sitting in beach chairs talking about "would you rather" questions for fun

Who is this person??

Ahh, there he finally appears!

And no beach outing is complete without sand toys and digging

On Sunday morning, we went out to Aunt Catfish's for brunch.  They have the yummiest cinnamon rolls, homemade omelets and pancakes.  Delicious!

The rest of Sunday we enjoyed the weather and the waves - with lots of boogie boarding!

All three kids!

There is a ridiculous meme out there called the Gigichad face - of which they all practiced during their best imitation!

During the evening, we enjoyed very much playing Yahtzee - it was a game from Amy's childhood - it was fun to bring those memories back and teach the kids!

And in random pictures when we returned home, the desk that Addison had wanted for her birthday came, so Addison and Erik practiced their handyman skills and put it all together!

Induction

The beginning of the school year always launches the beginning of Pathfinders and this year both Addison and Kaleb are in Pathfinders!  This certainly simplifies our life to have them both on the same schedule.  Both Addiso and Kaleb were able to participate in the Induction ceremony this year

Kaleb has a very full three side sash for his patches

Whereas Miss Addison is just starting out!

Wow, her dimples are making an appearance in this picture!

And Addison had the opportunity to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag - she did it flawlessly without a lot of nerves!
Addison is second from the right hand side

During the induction the kids went up on stage and talked about each of the pathfinder traits

Kaleb talking through his part

Then the new kids received their sash and scarf slide so this was Addison's special part of the program.

Love her secret little wave to Mama down taking pictures!

This is the Friends group - they have a super big group!

And then the whole
