Father's Day & Birthday Celebrations

For Father's Day this year, we got up and the kids took charge (at their father's request) for making all breakfast!  They did a great job serving up a delicious meal of pancakes and other culinary delights - good job kiddos!

The church also had a drive-through Father's Day event complete with "football fever" that Zachary and Addison got out to enjoy as well - even though they aren't fathers! :)
Snapping picture of Karis and Jennifer, who is the magic behind these events!

And we capped off celebrating Father's Day with having Grandpa Lyle over to celebrate him as a father, and his birthday!
Happy Birthday Lyle!

June is also Blake's birthday and they headed out to Top Golf to enjoy some fun.  It is hard to believe how old they are getting - we've known Blake since he was 18 months old!

The celebration boys!
Covid-19 requires masks now so these are the masked bandits :)
Speaking of knowing the B kids forever, Jennifer will sometimes send me pictures that come up on her Facebook memories feed - look at these little babies!

We also took our first outing to the beach in June along with the B and C families!  The weather was lovely, but the beach was crowded and with Covid-19 going around, we tried to stay as far from other people as possible.  We didn't even shower as we were leaving because there were too many people there, so we just drove home sandy and showered there!  The water and sky was beautiful that day!
Digging to China in the sand!
He is growing up way too fast - love you Zach!
The moms sitting in the water with our chairs to keep cool!
Selfie as we get ready to head out to the beach!

Recently, we went out to the lake and noticed that there was a boat there that had to be "jumped" because their battery went dead.  We sat watching the whole affair and then went to put our boat into the water.....only to realize that OUR battery was dead!  What are the chances of that!?  We were so fortunate that the jumper cables/truck etc were all there from the first boat, so they just moved the cables over to our boat and away we went!  They were our helper angels that day for sure!

Our boating outings blend together, but on one outing we had some of the kids friends out with us (Erick, Lucas, Cristian and Becca).  We ended up being caught in a rainstorm (thankfully no lightning which of course we avoid), so it was quite a wet ending to our day as we quickly took the kids back to their house (two of them live on the lake) and then back to home -- but as we were taking them back, the boys decided to be wild and crazy and try to stand up on the tubes (we were boating slowly) and ride them!  Several of them did get up into the standing position!

Addison has been losing teeth like crazy, which is a good thing because her mouth is tiny and she doesn't have enough room for her adult teeth.  The dentist in fact has told us that she needs to have FIVE teeth pulled to try and make room!  She helped us to save us money by pulling one out herself :)

She delights in showing Amy when it gets so wiggly that it can poke straight out!  Yech!

Random pictures:
Mom and Lyle have been coming over on Sundays to watch Little House on the Prairie (such a fun new Covid tradition!)
And our Covid-19 walks.....love her holding her Daddy's hand!

Speaking of Covid-19, the cases in Florida are spiking.  Pray for us that we will continue to remain safe and not get it!
This picture requires a little more explanation.  Back in March on ski trip, Amy had a nasty few falls that put the kebosh on the skiing for her.  Since then, she has been plagued by a difficulty in sleeping and can't lay on her side like she normally does.  Four months in, Karis says "Wasn't it your left knee that you hurt skiing?"  Yes, it was.  So his response "You can't lay on your left side because your muscles/nerves have tightened up after your injury and it is causing nerve pain -- you need to work out the tightness by doing a foam roller".  Amy immediately started doing the roller (see below, which is basically putting this roller underneath you and rolling your body back and forth -- it is a bit tricky).  Anyway, it totally WORKED!  Amy can sleep on her left side again!  Why is it that it took four months to figure this out!?

Mornings are lazy in the Z house on this summer vacation - staying around in PJs.  Look at these kids - little stair steps!  Kaleb has been growing like a weed the last 6 months, while Zachary has taken a growing pause (he is about 5 ft 9.5 inches, which he is not happy about!).

Addison does love to do posed selfies, and her big brother has such a soft spot for her that he will do much of anything for her!

Kisses to all of our loved ones! :)

End of the Year Ballet Recital

Addison switched this year from gymnastics to ballet - and while it was a bit of an unusual end to the year to have classes just on Zoom, they did figure out a way to still have their end of the year recital, by having it recorded and then compiled.  Each class had a designated time in the Children's Ministries building at FLC that they came in and recorded their dance.  It was sure sweet to see them - although Addison told us that the dress was incredibly itchy and she didn't want to ever wear it again!
About to go inside - they got special hair pieces when they went in, so this is before it was put onto her hair
Our very close friends the Js - their daughter Elin was also in the ballet class

During the ballet recital, we weren't actually able to be in the room but Jennifer was there, along with some friends who were the ones actually taping it and they snuck some pictures out to us - it was fun to see.  Addison's thin limbs make her look so very graceful!

The entire group picture afterwards

The recital video was released a few weeks later, which coincided with us being over at Jeff's to celebrate his birthday - so we had a family viewing!

Our friend Ashley is the owner of the studio

Afterwards, Jeff had a funny "trophy" moment in which he gave an old trophy of Niesha's (that they were planning on getting rid of anyway) to Addison as a trophy for her star performance!  Addison got quick a kick out of that!

We enjoyed our time over there watching, with little Sadie sitting on Kaleb's lap and then getting down to do some dancing of her own!

The afternoon was filled with pool time and then of course eating and singing happy birthday to the special man of the hour!

May God bless you over the coming year Jeff!
